The rapid development in all fields of life has led to the fact that in the next few years, humanity may face multiple challenges, including keeping pace with the successive changes in the environmental system as a result of the increase in population growth, increased demand for energy and water, and rapid urban development accompanied by a high level of greenhouse gas emissions. All of this requires We need to do more research and study to maintain this system and develop it continuously. Since the well-being of humans and the interests of peoples depend primarily on the health of the environment, it is self-evident that the more we know about our environment, the greater our desire to preserve it, research its protection, and develop its resources.

Within the scope of its mission to advance its national responsibility, Al-Arish University seeks to harness the knowledge and skills acquired by its students in achieving comprehensive and sustainable development of the environment and interacting with contemporary environmental issues. In that Sinai occupies great importance from the perspective of Egyptian national security, as its geographical location on the eastern border determines the future of the Egyptian state, with the good and danger it brings, according to the degree of development interest given to it by the political leadership.

The Institute of Environmental Studies was established in 2014 and studies began in 2018 with the aim of developing the field of scientific research at the university and encouraging all researchers from different disciplines to interact and merge with each other to develop their research and ideas. Therefore, we hope that the Institute of Environmental Studies will contribute to preparing a distinguished generation of specialists and researchers in the various environmental sciences. To provide their services and expertise to serve our beloved Egypt and achieve Vision 2030.
